35 Years of German Reunification – Young Perspectives from the Lusatian and Rhineland Mining Regions - Exhibition

  • 35 Years of German Reunification – Young Perspectives from the Lusatian and Rhineland Mining Regions - Exhibition

To mark the 35th anniversary of German reunification, young people from Germany’s easternmost region (Upper Lusatia) and westernmost region (Rhineland) submitted photographs depicting the “silent transformation” in their regions. A youth jury from “Löbau lebt e.V.” selected 60 works and curated an exhibition. The works are being shown in Upper Lusatia for the first time. The festive opening will also feature a panel discussion with young people from both regions on structural change, German reunification, and East-West differences. The Federal Government Commissioner for eastern Germany, Minister of State Elisabeth Kaiser, will participate in the discussion as a special guest. Afterward, there will be an opportunity to chat with the young artists in a relaxed atmosphere.

    Opening: 22.05. 17:00 | Kulturcafé "Alte Bäckerei"
